Anyone else heard of, or tried this? Using a Harbor Freight or Craftsman powdercoating machine. Approx $58.00 Slicker than lubed lead or copper jackets. Will not lead the barrel.
More info at; www.castboolits.gunloads.com (bullet casting-reloading-boolitlube-powdercoating boolits).

The finished product looks pretty sharp.

W/O going to the site first, is this Moly ?

I used to "Moly" coat my jacketed bullets, but I had more GI loaded, and it got to be a pain going between naked a coated bullets.
Moly was easier to get your Zero back after cleaning, but it did not prolong your barrel, and your throat will still wear the same, in your rifle.

The Author in the article never mentioned using Moly. I've used Moly, but "store Bought". This was I think the powdered pigment he was using.
I still rely on Gas Checks, or FMJ.

I have been doing this for a couple years. No need for a machine I just use a Cool whip bowl,Airsoft BBs Harbor-freight RED powder. shake and swirl, as cast clean bullets. (yellow, black does not work well with this method) Also need nonstick alum foil or parchment paper and a small convection oven.(small toaster oven with a built in fan) I size with Lee push through sizers. You do not need any lube. Most indoor ranges that do not allow lead bullets will allow powder coated lead. Many positive to this method, some have found they don't need gas checks or they can use a softer lead alloy.
This method works well for me !!! BUT !!!! I do not try to push any lead bullets super fast, I've found no need to punish myself and or equipment. Greg<huntnman
