You can get rebates for new equipment based on how high its efficiency rating is. We'll also be participating in the check out program where we can perform exact tests on your existing equipment and show you where you can improve it's performance. The ideal way to do this is to get us out for a normal checkout of your air conditioner and we'll include the high end testing which Ameren will pay for and they'll pay us instead of you having to pay for it. You'll pay a reduced price for the check out to us and Ameren will pop for the more extensive testing. You end up with a very well tuned up and properly charge unit.
Wait for it to be a bit warmer as there's companies that will check your AC when it's convenient for them and they're not busy on a cold day. You need a warmer day to truly check out an air conditioner.
