What, no one is shooting anymore ?

I know it was a wet Spring, but someone has to be snapping some caps ?

I'm way behind in my practice for shooting High Power, my Match scores are 15-20 points to where they should be, again lack of practice, and now it it too HOT, have to shoot with a sweatshirt and a Heavy shooting coat.

Out

Went out yesterday. Learned not to take any short cuts. I was shooting my just inherited 30-30 with cast bullets. I did not check bore diameter, and payed the price.I used the same 312440 cast and sized at .309. that I use for my 30-06.Ended up with a severely leaded micro groove barrel. OUCH!!!

It's a marlin rifle isn't it? I understand they have trouble with cast.

It is a Glenfield mod 30,made by Marlin for sears and roebuck.Looking back I should have thoroughly cleaned to make sure no copper was in the bore. Now I have no choice but tear down scrub it clean.

I read on another site to try bullets sized to .310 in the microgroove. In my Winchester and savage I've been shooting cast sized at .308 and not had a problem.
